General stuff: I'm going to school at UW-Madison (Go Badgers!) and I'm majoring in English with the vague idea of teaching secondary education. I absolutely love Madison, and the marching band here is phenomenal.
High School: I graduated good old ACHS in 2003, after doing 3 fabulous shows with the guard (I must admit that my freshman year I did marching band. That was before I knew how much the guard rocked). I was in Celtic Traditions (or whatever the real name of that show was), Creatures of the Night (my personal favorite), and West Side Story. For the past few years, I've been helping out with the JV guard during the summer.
Words of Wisdom: Where to start...let me just say that color guard is awesome, but it definitely takes dedication and hard work. But the best part is that it's fun, so really the 'hard work' thing really isn't all that difficult. Color guard takes practice, but in the end it's entirely worth it. So just give it your all and you can't go wrong. And besides, you'll have some fantastic memories to remember the experience by!
